This is my submission for Illustration Friday. The word for this week is SLEEP. This is a cropped image from a submission that I made for SCBWI's Illustration contest. The contest is apart of the SCBWI'S Midsouth Conference that they have every year in September.

Updates

I just did an update to my blog and added a widget for @SCBWI-The Society of Book Writers and Illustrators because I am now a member!!! I am also going to the Mid-South conference in September in Franklin, TN YAY!

This is my little friend Jessica who always likes to model for me. I am currently working on a comic book in my Sequential art class and I had to take some reference pictures of her.

I took the opportunity to get a picture so I could submit for IF.

This is my submission for IF. This is a self portrait. This one is a special one for me because when my grandmother was sick I showed her some of my art work. When she got to this painting, with her 102 year old eyes, She knew it was ME! I was so surprised and happy that she recognized that it was me, it was a special moment for me as an artist. I also put a copy of this picture in her casket when she passed in April of this year.
